Wind Farm Tsugaru Introduces Lightning Warning System

We have installed a lightning warning system at Wind Farm Tsugaru.

Because the wind turbines are located at various sites on agricultural land, the system was introduced with the aim of helping to ensure the safety of local residents, as part of our broader efforts to support agricultural revitalization and regional development through our operations.

This system promptly detects lightning as it approaches and issues an alert to those nearby through speakers and warning lights set up around the wind turbines.

Alert issued by warning lights: Lightning struck within 40km

Alert issued by both warning lights and speakers: Lightning struck within 30km

The wind turbines will be turned off if a lightning strike within 10km is confirmed.

(The warning levels are subject to change depending on the precision of lightning detection and other factors.)

The safety and security of the local community is our top priority, and we remain committed to implementing a wide range of initiatives as we undertake power generation projects.
